After suffering through the worst start of his pro career, 9x world champion Kelly Slater is back. He took out local favorite Adriano de Souza in the final of the WCT event in Brazil today and moved from 25th to 9th place in the ASP ratings. The win is the 41st of his pro career and gives him momentum heading into the next event at Jeffrey’s Bay in South Africa, which he won last year.
Fuel TV’s half-hour special on the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast will air tonight at 5:00pm (PST) and 8:00pm (PST). The Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast is held every year at Snapper Rocks, one of the best right points in the world. Watch as Quiksilver team riders Kelly Slater, Dane Reynolds, Jeremy Flores, FreddyP and wildcard Julian Wilson battle it out in the first contest of the Men’s ASP World Tour.
The show will be re-broadcasted throughout the month of July. Check out www.fuel.tv for more times and dates.

Here’s another installment of photos from Quik Art Director Scott Richards. From a Nautical-themed photo shoot with Alex Olsen for the Quiksilver Limited collection, this one has all sorts of unique, creative inspiration to draw from.

And in case you want to try this at home, this is what I do, it’s super complex…
1. I open iPhoto on Scott’s computer.
2. I find an interesting day of photos related to his job at Quiksilver (although I may start splicing in shots from his family vacations just to see if anyone actually watches these)
3. I set my camera on a tripod and film the screen as I press the right arrow on the computer.
